I'VE GOT MY WAYFARERS ON, BABY

As Don Henely put it ever so cooly in one of my favorite songs of all time, "Boys of Summer"... "You've got your hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby."

Oh baby, but boy do Wayfarers ever add the ultimate dose of cool without any sort of try-hard to an outfit. These are authentic vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarers from wayyyy back... and are actually my mom's! She was generous enough to loan these to me for the shoot ;)

Plus, any outfit is instantly that much cooler when you throw on a leather jacket... duh.

VINTAGE GUCCI

It's always such a trip when you score something vintage, are obsessed with it and wear it a billion times, and then retire it to the back of your closet for a while (only to rediscover it later). Such is the story of this vintage Gucci sweatshirt that I found close to 10 years ago, and is now having it's comeback.

Let's face it, Gucci is having a major moment right now. So much so, that they've reinvented some of their most recognizable designs in a modern way, case in point with their Distressed T-Shirt, an almost exact reincarnation of my vintage find. What's old is new again!

NYC TIMES TWO

Found myself in NYC for a brief 48 hours last week, and luckily got out JUST before storm Jonas pummeled the city with massive amounts of snow and ice. 

Since I'm ride or die West Coaster, my "cold weather" clothes are cool for LA but don't quite cut it for New York. I wasn't quite frozen to the core, but I did the best I could given my options.

THAWING OUT

As I'm sure you've heard, people in LA have been *freaking* out about how **freezing** it is here. True, we're not used to anything lower than 75, but let's try and tone down the dramatics just a bit. I, for one, welcome these chilly winter days, especially after the sweltering summer us Angelenos experienced.

Cut to me starting to thaw out yesterday by wearing my first pair of shorts of the year. My best friend picked me up in his vintage Mercedes from the 60's, we put the top down and cruised up Benedict Canyon for breakfast at the Beverly Glen Deli. A perfect Saturday morning.

CERULEAN STYLE

I have always loved that quote of Ice Queen Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada. Actually, I pretty much love every quote from that movie. "Florals. For spring. Grounbreaking." Does it get any better?

When I spotted this crackly alley wall, which I believe is indeed cerulean, I thought it would make for the perfect vibrant backdrop for this laidback weekend 'fit.

NYC SWAG

It feels so good to be back in NYC. The energy, the style, the inspiration and the je ne sais quoi I have missed so since I was last here over the summer! This cool wall of street art photography outside my hotel, the Mondrian in Soho, caught my eye. I am intrigued by the concept of taking graffiti and street art, photographing it, and repurposing it again on the street. Anyways, this look is what I call my "NYC Swag" - can't go wrong with my new camouglage biker jacket and essential leather skinny pants. And let's not forget my black snapback... CAMO WITH ATTITUDE

The first official outfit post on the Lavender Ambition Tour! So in love with my new All Saints camouflage biker jacket - as you know, I've never met a biker jacket I didn't like. I love the contrast between the camo and the rest of this look, which I kept simple with black and white. And of course, my lavender hair! This pale pink/violet wall was the perfect color complement I think.
