CHILLIN' IN MIAMI

Recently got back from Miami, a trip filled with sun, swimming, events, spending time with pals, and enjoying some much needed chill time.

I'VE GOT MY WAYFARERS ON, BABY

As Don Henely put it ever so cooly in one of my favorite songs of all time, "Boys of Summer"... "You've got your hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby."

Oh baby, but boy do Wayfarers ever add the ultimate dose of cool without any sort of try-hard to an outfit. These are authentic vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarers from wayyyy back... and are actually my mom's! She was generous enough to loan these to me for the shoot ;)

Plus, any outfit is instantly that much cooler when you throw on a leather jacket... duh.

DOUBLE THE DENIM

As I always say... double the denim, double the fun!

I am way overdue for some recent outfit shots, and between work, spending time with family and friends, and taking time for myself... apologies!

As a little backstory to this outfit, I unapologetically love the historically tacky combo of denim on denim. However, my love for this combo has recently evolved. As recent as a few years ago, I used to think that wearing double denim was only cool if you mixed up the washes. So, for example, wearing a dark wash denim shirt with a pair of light wash jeans. Now, I'm like... who cares! Give me some light wash jeans and a light wash shirt and I'm down.

TROPICAL VIBES

For a while there, with all the rain and gloom, I forgot I lived in LA. I didn't sign up for ACTUAL weather! On a recent Sunday, I spent the morning enjoying brunch with a friend and then running all around Venice, from the canals to Abbot Kinney. VINTAGE GUCCI

It's always such a trip when you score something vintage, are obsessed with it and wear it a billion times, and then retire it to the back of your closet for a while (only to rediscover it later). Such is the story of this vintage Gucci sweatshirt that I found close to 10 years ago, and is now having it's comeback.

Let's face it, Gucci is having a major moment right now. So much so, that they've reinvented some of their most recognizable designs in a modern way, case in point with their Distressed T-Shirt, an almost exact reincarnation of my vintage find. What's old is new again!

TOTALLY AUTOMATIC

It's kind of funny how different my style is in the winter vs. the summer. In the summer, I pretty much always look like I'm headed to a luau. When the winter comes around, however, I like to rev up the sophistication a bit with items like turtleneck sweaters, big scarves, and blazers. Preppy for winter!

This look is one that I predicted everyone would say "Karl Lagerfeld vibes" about, and I was right! Did I care? Duh! No!
