CHILLIN' IN MIAMI

Recently got back from Miami, a trip filled with sun, swimming, events, spending time with pals, and enjoying some much needed chill time.

DOUBLE THE DENIM

As I always say... double the denim, double the fun!

I am way overdue for some recent outfit shots, and between work, spending time with family and friends, and taking time for myself... apologies!

As a little backstory to this outfit, I unapologetically love the historically tacky combo of denim on denim. However, my love for this combo has recently evolved. As recent as a few years ago, I used to think that wearing double denim was only cool if you mixed up the washes. So, for example, wearing a dark wash denim shirt with a pair of light wash jeans. Now, I'm like... who cares! Give me some light wash jeans and a light wash shirt and I'm down.

HEAT WAVE FLORALS

While LA is currently in the midst of the most gnarly heat waves in recent memory, I snapped these photos a few weekends ago. Freshly platinum and cruisin' around the streets of Venice, this  painterly floral shirt and white denim paired perfectly.

RECENTLY X MAY-JUNE 2016

Summer is full swing ahead. My favorite time of year (besides the holiday season) is spent in the sun, in the water, and on the sand.

This summer has been an especially busy one - lots of work, projects, activities! I have made it a point to be especially mindful to get some major relaxation and chill time in to offset the business!

Below is my visual diary of the past few months. Enjoy!

SOLID AND STRIPED

For this outfit, I decided to keep things a bit nautical, a bit beachy, and totally fresh. I have always loved the ease of a classic striped button-down, and when worn with slouchy white Levi's and new Soludos espadrilles, it's just plain cool.

Summer in LA is really heating up, and my easy uniform of choice has been a breezy linen shirt (either that or tons of tropical Hawaiian shirts... more on that in a minute) paired with shorts and espadrilles. Getting me through the heat wave!

Honestly I had no clue that this look resembled Neapolitan ice cream until a friend mentioned it - but it SO does! I love a simple color block moment, and this lightweight sweatshirt from Topman and easy trunks from Venroy Sydney just look so easy together.

HUGH & CRYE

Was really stoked to discover my latest sartorial obsession, the rad menswear brand Hugh & Crye.

Specifically, a style of shirts they've created - the Popover. Easy to pop on, their breezy cotton fabrication and diverse array of unique prints makes these guys super perfect for warm-weather adventures. Gonna be sporting these all summer long, trust.

For my first foray into fall style this season, I figured that I would start with a great emerald green bomber jacket, paired with an easy white tee and great worn-in jeans.

Autumn, I'm ready for ya... now if the weather would only cool down!

CHECKS + KHAKI

There's something to be said for the art of bespoke tailoring, however in this increasingly modern digital age, the authenticity of this craft can oftentimes be lost. Enter Knot Standard, an incredibly rad line of custom-made menswear. Through their easy online process of providing a handful of my personalized measurements, I was able to create this checkered blazer which has quickly become one of my new staples.

I paired this with a simple white t-shirt and a great pair of khaki colored skinny denim that I picked up last week at J.Crew men's denim event at The Grove.

ZACK X MIAMI SWIM WEEK 2015

This year's trip to Miami for Swim Week was, in a word, hot. And not just temperature wise. Don't get me wrong, the Miami climate was expectedly soupy, which truth be told did wonderful things for my complexion. Miami Swim Week sizzled this year thanks to nonstop runway shows, after parties, and celebrations that may or may not have included drinking lots of tequila at a club that doubled as a late-night taco shop.

No matter how hectic this wild weekend of babes in bikinis got, I found refuge on the sand and in the ocean. When all was said and done, the final moments of the weekend on the beach with friends was what I'll take away from this scorcher of a trip.
