STRIPES ON STRIPES

There's nothing quite like serving up a bit of classic Americana style while standing in front of a patriotic flag, is there? This 'fit is making me super ready for the 4th of July!

This hidden gem of a photo-worthy backdrop is nestled away in an alley in Venice, and to do it right I thought to myself, why not bring out the stripes in full force? A casual red and black striped tee pairs nicely with skinny denim and a jean jacket tied around my waist. Let's not forget the striped Soludos!

LA is already back to its usual, sunny self, but last weekend we had a major rainstorm (note: Angelenos have absolutely zero clue with how to deal with rain and act like the world is ending) and last week we had some residual gloom. So, I grabbed my heavyweight leather jacket and a bright scarf to stay warm while looking fresh.

LETTERMAN JACKET

Spent this long weekend with friends and family, having drinks at the Chateau Marmont, doing some thrifting at the Long Beach Flea Market, grabbing a leisurely lunch at Cafe Habana in Malibu which was followed by a relaxing drive through the Malibu canyons, and majorly catching up on blogs and magazines. The new Harper's Bazaar with Daria on the cover is SO. GOOD.

For this look, I combined a letterman jacket with a classic pair of slim fit denim and one of my favorite pairs of embroidered slippers.

GRANDPA CARDIGAN

It's crazy to think that this year is almost over, and the holiday season is upon us. I feel like it was just summer!

Over the weekend, I bundled up in this cozy grandpa cardigan for lunch at my new favorite taco spot, La Otra Escuela Taqueria, with my best friend Colton. Between these amazing tacos and this casual outfit, I was set!

WEEKEND TUXEDO

Over the weekend, I combined three of my favorite things: denim, leather, and a tuxedo jacket for a look that is my weekend take on tuxedo dressing.

I love playing with the dualities between dressy and casual, polished and relaxed. I could kick around in this outfit of leather pants, hi top sneakers, a white tee and a denim shirt tied around my waist during the weekend, and made the whole look a bit more dapper with the tux jacket.

BEACH BIKER

Hello! I hope that everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I spent the long weekend relaxing, brunching, beaching, sleeping, writing, and going to two BBQ's. Pretty much the perfect way to wind down the summer.

While summer is "technically" coming to a close, it doesn't feel that way here in LA... it's been very hot and humid recently. So, today's look reflects these scorching temps.

I've worn this vintage Harley tank before, in a completely different way. Today, it's all about taking it to the beach with a pair of cutoffs and a snapback.

For my latest look, my jeans are pegged and my shirt is tied! I was inspired by the 90's when tying this vintage flannel around my waist and wearing this worn down pair of authentic vintage Levi's and pairing them with a jacket and hi tops.

One of my favorite things to do is play around with mixing denim, from light to dark washes and this dope new pair of bleached cutoffs.

For this look, I kept the shades to blue and white and of course added on my favorite skeleton slippers! Hope everyone's having a killer summer so far.

TUXEDO + A TANK

  

One of my favorite things to do style wise is mix and match pieces that don't normally go together, which is exactly what I did here with a tuxedo jacket and a vintage tank. I love that this otherwise all-black look is accentuated with pops of orange and gold, via my shades, watch and the embroidery on my slippers.

In other news, I am so excited for the weekend! I have a BBQ with my family tonight and then am playing Saturday by ear... I really want to see "The Bling Ring"! What does everyone have planned for the weekend?
